University of Nevada Hotels

The University of Nevada is located in the city of Reno, Nevada and was founded in the year 1874. After the university was founded, it was primary located in Elko, Nevada. In 1886, the school moved to its current location in Reno. The University of Nevada was the first college in the state of Nevada, and remained the only college in the state until 1965. The University of Nevada is a public university with just over 17,000 students in the 2010 academic year. The university currently offers over 75 undergraduate degrees and over 100 graduate degrees to its students.
The main attractions in the city of Reno are the University of Reno sporting events and the dozens of hotel casinos in the area. The University of Nevada's sports teams are the Wolf Pack and they compete in the NCAA's Division 1 in all of the major sports. The two most attended sporting events at the school are the basketball and football games.
The Nevada Wolf Pack basketball team play their games in the Lawlor Events Center, which is an on-campus arena that holds almost 12000 people. The team competes in the Western Athletic Conference, where they have 5 regular season conference championships in the last 7 years. The Wolf Pack have also made the NCAA basketball tournament 6 times in the schools history.
The Nevada Wolf Pack football team play their games in Mackay Stadium. Mackay Stadium is an open air stadium that holds almost 30000 people and is also used for the university's track and field events. The football team also plays their games in the Western Athletic Conference, where they have 2 conference championships. The Wolf Pack have 11 bowl game appearances in the 20 seasons they have played in NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision.
Outside of the university, Reno is also known for having a vast amount of casinos. While the city does not compete with Las Vegas in the amount of casinos, it is impossible to go anywhere in downtown Reno without being next to a casino. To draw tourist who do not have any interest in gambling, Reno is always the home of special events throughout the year. These events include classic car shows, bowling tournaments, balloon races and air shows.
